Privacy

Last updated 29 August 2026

miru miru collects nothing about you unless you choose to write to us. There is no account, no login, no tracking, no analytics, no advertising, and no cookies. This page explains what that means in practice, and is written to describe exactly what the app and this website actually do today — nothing more.

The app

There is no sign-up and no account. The app never asks who you are, and has no way of knowing.

Five things are saved on your device: which missions you marked as done or not for you (stored by date), whether you have seen the introduction, whether you prefer the light or dark theme, whether you asked for a daily reminder, and a copy of the mission list so the app works offline. All of it stays on your device. None of it is ever sent anywhere, and all of it is deleted if you delete the app.

If you turn on the daily reminder, the notification is scheduled by your phone and nothing is sent over the internet to deliver it — there is no server involved and no way for us to know whether you saw it. Turning it off cancels it immediately.

The app connects to the internet for two reasons: to download the list of daily missions, and — only if you use “Send a note” — to deliver the note you wrote. The mission requests carry no identifier of any kind: no device ID, no account, no session ID, nothing that distinguishes your copy of the app from anyone else’s. Apart from a note you choose to send, the app sends no information about you, because it has none.

There are no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising, and no third-party tracking libraries in the app.

This website

This site uses no cookies and no analytics. Nothing is stored in your browser.

Everything the page loads — fonts, images — is served from our own domain. No part of the page is loaded from a third party, so no other company is told that you visited. The “Send a note” form posts to our own domain too: there is no third-party form service, and no captcha loaded from anyone else.

Links to other sites

A few places here and in the app link out to other people’s sites — The Art of Noticing and Waking Up, and the font licences. If you follow one, that site sees your visit the way it sees any visitor, including the internet address you come from. Your browser is not told you arrived from miru miru, and nothing about you is passed along, because there is nothing to pass.

If you send a note

The form on this site, and the same feature in the app, are the only places miru miru asks you for anything — and every field is your choice. The note itself is required, because otherwise there is nothing to send. Your name and email address are optional: leave them blank and the note arrives with no idea who wrote it.

A note is sent as an ordinary email and nothing else. There is no database, no ticketing system, and no record kept of who sent what. Whatever you type is what arrives — your name and email address, if you gave them, are written into that email so a reply can be sent, and your name also appears in its subject line. Nothing is stored on our side either before or after it is sent.

The email travels through Cloudflare’s email routing and lands in an ordinary personal inbox, where it stays until it is deleted — the same as any email you send to anyone. If you gave an email address, it will only ever be used to reply to you. It is never added to a mailing list, because there is no mailing list.

To keep the form from being abused, the service briefly counts how many submissions come from your internet address in the last minute, and refuses too many. Cloudflare holds that count against your address for that minute and then discards it. We never see it, never write it down, and it is never attached to your note or kept alongside it.

Our hosting provider

The website, the mission list, and the “Send a note” service are all served through Cloudflare. Like any web server, Cloudflare has to see the internet address your request comes from in order to send a reply back. That is how the web works and cannot be avoided.

We have explicitly turned off request logging on all three of our services, so we do not keep those addresses or build any record of individual visits. Cloudflare keeps its own overall traffic counts, which we cannot switch off and which do not identify anyone.

Your data, and deleting it

If you have never sent a note, there is nothing to delete: no account to close, no record to correct, and nothing held anywhere about you. Everything the app saves lives on your own device and goes with the app if you remove it.

If you have sent a note, that note exists as an email in an inbox, and will stay there until it is deleted. Ask and it will be deleted, along with your name and address if you gave them. You are welcome to ask for a copy of it too, though it will only be what you wrote.

If you would like to ask about any of this, or think something on this page is wrong, write to hello@mirumiru.art.

Changes

If what the app or this site does ever changes, this page will be updated and the date at the top will change with it.
